No, I don’t want children…

Daily writing prompt
What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

It isn’t necessarily just one question, but a rather collection a that is usually started by one. My partner, Slade, and I decided early on we didn’t want children. As we’ve grown older, that decision just solidifies more strongly with each passing day, month, year.

So it’s rather frustrating when someone asks me if I have children. Because I know, that inevitably, it will be followed by more questions, like why not or what are my reasons? What if we change our minds? Doesn’t my partner want children? So on and so forth.

Not every conversation is negative, but so many are, that it has made Slade and I gun shy. People are also fairly opinionated on the subject so when their opinion differs from ours, we are often treated and talked to negatively.
