QotD is a feature dedicated to answering questions from Piccadilly’s 5 Year Question a Day Memory Journal. The journal states its purpose is to help reflect back on daily routine and to act as a “time capsule” of experiences. As someone who laments their awful memory, I thought this was a wonderful tool and opportunity.

Luck or destiny?

I don’t really believe in either and feel this question could have picked better terms to compare. To me, both of the terms above is something out of one’s control. And while I believe we cannot control everything due to all the factors at play, I firmly believe we can influence our own futures.
